The panelists on What's My Line? seemed rather tee'd off that they couldn't identify this guest. Benet Cerf said it would have been easy if the guest had been wearing his baseball cap. He definately wasn't competing in the Seniors back then. (As a special guest of What's My Line?)

An apropriate St. Patrick's Day entry (once you see his full name), this celebrity was a well known news personality. His voice was the one that informed many people of the Pearl Harbor bombing. He was the son-in-law of Supreme Court Cheif Justice Earl Warren. (Explaining his choice of "John Warren" for his firstborn son.) He proclaimed on multiple that Bennet Cerf had finally gotten his full name correct for the first time ever. (As the host of What's My Line?)

This man appeared on What's My Line? not as an entertainer, but as a poultry farmer. He raised Cornish Game Hens to be exact.
(As a regular guest on What's My Line.)

Everyone's favorite non-Raymond Burr TV lawyer. His first, and probably most famous project was a spinoff of the Danny Thomas Show. He appeared on the show as the redneck sherrif of a speed-trap town. Not quite as honest as his eventual character.
(As a guest on What's My Line.)

Not only has this man appeared twice on the Simpsons, (once as himself and once as his own voice), but he's been mentioned on other occasions And in the classic episode "Like Father, Like Clown" Bart sings the first lyrics of his theme song, "This Could Be the Start of Something Big." Who composed it? He wrote it himself, naturally.
(As the host of I've Got a Secret.)

In $pringfield, when Bart opens his own treehouse casino, he needs an act to replace his Liza Minnelli impersonator, who unfortunately turned out to be Liza Minnelli. He has Nelson pick up this celebrity who was heading for the real casino. This reflects that he's a famous Vegas lounge act, but this picture is right before he started his nightclub act and was fresh from playing Lancelot in "Camelot" (on Broadway).

Continuing the Simpson's educational month, this celebrity's vivacious head was a panelist on Match Game 2021 with the "I didn't do it" boy. The reason they chose her is because she's an amazing gameshow mainstay. She is best known for appearing on all incarnations of To Tell the Truth, but she also helped sell Password to the network executives, and was an early panelist on I've Got a Secret. She was also a theater actress, but of course modern audiences don't have much of a chance to know her for that. Even with her gracious personality, she doen't seem to take to Bart.

It's time for a little educational celebrity quiz. In "Krusty Gets Kancelled" there's a Springfield Squares game going on. When a tidal wave comes everyone takes refuge in Barry White's square. Except, that is, one crotchety old man who insisted he wasn't going to leave the square he's been in "pert near 30 years". That man was of course, based off someone on the original Hollywood Squares. He was a Civil War expert and David Arquette's grandfather to boot.

Let's make January "Garry Moore in the picture month". Goodness knows other hosts of I've Got a Secret get enough attention elsewhere on the site...
Garry, ever on the left, is helping this celebrity to set up Henry Morgan to go spend a week working on his ranch. This was all triggered by a routine Henry had making fun of cowboys.

Let's make January "Garry Moore in the picture month". Goodness knows other hosts of I've Got a Secret get enough attention elsewhere on the site...
The sliver of a face in back is Garry helping this week's celebrity into a shiny jacket. In a later episode, the celebrity played an unrehearsed Piano "duet" with Bill Cullen and Henry Morgan, having them use two lemons and a grapefruit. I only wish his brother George were here...

Let's make January "Garry Moore in the picture month". Goodness knows other hosts of I've Got a Secret get enough attention elsewhere on the site...
Garry Moore (on the left again) is playing "dummy" to this famous ventrilloquist. If you can't think of any famous ventriloquists, maybe you've heard of his daughter, Candice? (One wonders if Garry got more attention just like Charlie).

Now there are jokes about Garry Moore (to the left) being short, but for this guest, Garry actually used a stepladder to talk to him. Of course the celebrity is known for something besides just being tall thanks to his autobiography. (As a contestant on I've Got a Secret.)

There can't be anyone who doesn't know this actor, partner. If you need a hint, he got cancer on the same movie set as Agness Moorehead (Endora from Bewitched). More trivia than a hint, but come on! (As a contestant on What's My Line?.)

Depending on how old you are you either know this man for his blue eyes (it's not Frankie!) or if you're younger, you'll know him for his salad dressing. (As a contestant on What's My Line?.) |

I usually only pick people who I think even the least knowledgable should know about. However, with all the fuss this week about some king returning, I couldn't help but pick the original star of The Hobbit and Return of the King. To help those who don't know of him from his playing Bilbo and Frodo or from his stay on To Tell the Truth, he's mentioned as a "writer" for Sky and Telescope on the They Might Be Giants album Then. And he shares part of his name with the author of the Ender's Game series and the other part with a recently important character from the series. Good enough? (As a regular pannelist on TTtT.) |

This singer has been beaten up by nuns in bad movies and stalked by Judge Harry Stone on Tv's Night Court, but he still keeps coming back like a velvet fog.

When people think "gameshow" perhaps they shouldn't think of all the hosts or permanent panelists, but instead of this woman. She frequently appeared on an unbelievable number of gameshows. She even married a gameshow host. Although when most people think of the woman, they think of her golden years... (As a panelist on To Tell the Truth.) |

This comedian went to college to study art before finding his calling. You might call him the forerunner of Conan O'Brian's "If they mated" since aparently casting agents thought he was the right mix of Robin Williams and Pam Dawber. This picture is from What's
My Line?, but he's also been involved in a Scooby Doo celebrity mystery. Jinkies! |

This man helped Charlton Heston find out that Soylent Green was people, see? And according to Rodger Meyers Jr. Cheif Wiggum is a ripoff of him, see? From What's

This oscar winning actor is undoubtedly TV's most
famous sewer worker. He also does a rather uncanny impression of John Daly, his friend and host of What's
My Line?-- where this picture is from. |

This man is credited with changing the sleeping patterns
of America; alas, like everything on television it was something that
Steve Allen had done first. This picture is from an appearance on

This long-time star perhaps best known for Newhart recently married Bob's Bob Newhart Show wife, Suzanne Pleshette. This picture is from an appearance
on What's My Line? although he's better known for his stay on To Tell the Truth. |

Known for his work in spooky films, his interest
in the morbid wasn't strictly limited to his career. This star was
also a big Poe fan and could quote some works verbatim. I can't begin
to fathom his connection to eggs though. This picture is from an appearance
on What's My Line? |

The son (seated) appeared on To Tell the Truth
explaining that he was doing some filming for his famous father. (The
premise of the game is that two imposters pretend to be the third
person and the panel asks questions to guess who the real person is.)
Normally the real person is asked to stand up at the end, but in this
case the famous father came out to identify the real Philippe. Now,
you may not recognize zee father out of zee briny deep, but we know
you've heard of him. |

This actress and hot night club act will probably
only be remembered for one role by most people now. And since she
spent that role masked, I feel it's only fair to give a clue: from
how pretty she is here, it's easy to understand why she made a purrrfect
Batman villain even 13 years later. From a 1954 appearance on What's
My Line? |

(The following bit of trivia is shamelessly taken
from IMDB) When asked what his golf handicap was, he replied: "My
handicap? Man, I am a one-eyed, black Jew! THAT'S my handicap!"

Recently deceased comedian. You'll probably remember
him for his touching role as some cabbie who ends up on a romantic
cruise with a customer in a very special episode of the Love Boat.
Here he's a guest panelist on What's My Line? |

One of her big television mentors was Garry Moore,
so it's no surprise that she often appeared on I've Got a Secret, in this case as the special guest. |

Probably not a big stretch for the right people,
but what the panelists called him may surprise you. From an appearance
on Line. |

Famous mother. Well, most people haven't heard of
her now, but they definitely should know her daughters. From a special
appearance on Line. |
August 27th 2003 |

Huge Warner Brothers star of the 1930s and '40s, from an appearance on Secret in 1960. |
