I usually only pick people who I think even the least knowledgable should know about. However, with all the fuss this week about some king returning, I couldn't help but pick the original star of The Hobbit and Return of the King. To help those who don't know of him from his playing Bilbo and Frodo or from his stay on To Tell the Truth, he's mentioned as a "writer" for Sky and Telescope on the They Might Be Giants album Then. And he shares part of his name with the author of the Ender's Game series and the other part with a recently important character from the series. Good enough? (As a regular pannelist on TTtT.)
