Two weeks ago Saturn was right around the full moon, and while a few yards up the block to be past a street lamp doesn’t make for ideal photographic conditions, the pictures came out all right considering…

Obviously, it wasn’t really possible to get Saturn to show up in the picture with the moon at its best lighting.

So, this is what the camera can get of the moon with the lens zoomed to its full 200mm (1/3200 seconds):

And this is the less impressive Saturn at 5 seconds exposure (both pictures are unedited beyond cropping):

I only wish I had thought to get the 300mm lens out for the moon (I doubt Saturn would have seen much improvement), but there’s always this month.
