That’s four pelicans and a cormorant.
While we were at St Vrain we heard some thrashing and found the source to be a cormorant with a fishing bobber somehow in its mouth. Thankfully the whole park has cell reception and we were able to call a ranger to come see. The ranger couldn’t get near, but hopefully the animal control he called was able to do something. Here’s a picture we got of the cormorant when he surfaced with the bobber. You can also see it stretching its wings on the opposite bank from us in panorama 22. If you can’t make it out, there’s a blow up of the four birds in the picture in the directory too.
