Since this is the only way…
…I can rememeber when I read books anymore I would be remiss to not point out that I read Catch-22 last week. Crazy, crazy book and brilliant if you’re an English major with lots of other books under your belt like Dante, Dostoevsky, and the Bible.
Looking over my blahg’s book section also offers a tantalizing look into books I’ve abandonned this year: Don Quiote (at the second barf fest), Flying Carpet (for good reason, not to be resumed) and the unmentioned Brothers Karamazov. Ok, not that tantalizing. But it’s helped me with my list of novels I’ve read in my life. When I opened the list today it was a paltry 120 books. Keep in mind this includes stuff I was forced to read in school! Fortunately it’s getting a little beefier with some forgotten additions like all the Drizzt books. It’s still small for someone who reads a lot, but as Dan perfectly put it, I read “a lot of crap”. It’s true, and since I’m only counting novels/short story collections and not trivia/self help books it might remain small my entire life.
